Don't know anymore

"So are you still talking to my brother?" Ian hadn't heard from Oliver in ages, but then he had been busy with Amy and her Dad, lately. He was bundled up now, instead of just his favorite fall sweater that Eric had left behind. Suddenly, winter had appeared. He hoped it didn't get really cold yet. But he had on gloves, ready to get the book-drop at the library.

"Yeah." Kayla nodded.

"Like, how much?" Ian winced. "Every night?"

"Yeah." She was being quiet about it.

"So are you two serious, or what?" Ian was kind of shocked, but not really. He guessed. Maybe it was for the best. But she was here and Oliver was in England. Could they possible keep a romance going?

"You know." She shrugged.

"Oliver tells me nothing." Ian informed her. He seemed distant, lately. He didn't know why.

"Oh, he's just, you know, busy." She slightly smiled.

"Busy with you?" Ian couldn't think him busy with anything else.

"I-I'm thinking about going to see him." She smiled more then.

"OK." Ian just glared at her. "Really?" She was always talking out loud about traveling, but she never had before.

"That way, if-if we really meet, we can see - if- if we can stand each other." She went back to her desk then to make phone calls.

Ian almost cracked up. He shook his head. Did his brother know what he was getting himself into?
