day to day
Rox cried the moment she heard what happened to Sunny. She couldn't help it. Now as she looked at Sunny's mother,Dee, she could hardly hold it together.
"She was such a good influence on Derrick. I just can't believe it." Rox wouldn't dare ask what Sunny was doing with this Holden. She thought everything was perfect with Derrick and Sunny. But Derrick had been sick. It was the flu. Rox told her how Derrick was still under the weather.
Sunny's mother nodded. Jai kept saying all these great things about Sunny. How beautiful she was.
"I dunno why she ever wore makeup. She's beautiful." He remembered seeing her in the Christmas play. He even talked about a musical she was in that Rox had forgotten about.
"She liked purple, didn't she?" Rosie chimed in. She remembered the time Sunny came over with purple hair. "It was the best purple hair, I'd ever seen."
Sunny's mother let the kids hug her. There were plenty of people from Dee's church. Still Rox wished she good have done more.
"You tell, Derrick, I missed seeing him." Dee's warm hand reached out to Rox, who only nodded. She was overwhelmed by Dee's strength in this catastrophe. Dee then said. "You're raising a mighty fine young man, Miss Roxie."
Rox tried to smile through tears, but it was hard. She was thankful she had Kyle to help her. She really counted her blessings everyday.
