in the realm of gladness

"Well," Eric was still in a huff about this High School Musical movie to go too. "We are still seeing Family Force Five and Playradioplay," he informed Ellie. "We have to now. I can't let Ian be completely mislead by me, going to this tween thing."

"It'll be all right, can't you admit a secret crush on Hillary Duff or something Disney?" She just gave him a playful punch to let him know to get with the program.

"No," he winced. "Never."

"Think of it as doing something nice for someone else then," Ellie looked at him point blank. He guessed she was right, they could be off with Dylan and Cory and god knows what they'd be wanting to do at the moment. Just why did it have to be from one extreme to the other? Something sugary sweet or something so aloof it might as well be toxic if one wasn't careful enough.

So they got in the car. Loaded everyone up for the movie. It finally struck Eric that this was possibly the first and only real family thing he'd ever done in his life. He hardly thought of he and his mother being that much of a family, anymore. And it had been ages he'd actually gone anywhere as a whole family. It had always managed to be slightly broken, if anything. And though, it hadn't really ever hit him that anything was wrong with that. But now it felt so overwhelming to be the one in charge, making sure everyone was having a good time or at least know what was going on with them.

It was so nerve-wrecking to think about, but if he didn't dwell on it, it just all fell in to place, naturally. No rowdy behavior. Everyone was all smiles and pleased even excited. Eric almost broke down with a smile. But not too much. He did have to sit through High School Musical 3. But then again, he had his arm around Ellie. His brother on the other side of him. And of course, Kayla held Ian's hand even if it really wasn't quite romantic, but Ian didn't seem to mind.

  1. HSM 3? Pity. But that's just me. I probably would have to go see it with my kid sister, but I'll probably have rehearsal or something that day. XD

FF5? Lucky. You'll have to tell me how it goes. :) I started a demand for them in my area and so far it's got a whole three people. LOL.
