When the days get longer

Jay was beginning to think he was a scavenger by nature and the only home he really knew revolved around Brian. They'd been true friends since elementary school.

There was a time, he thought he got it right. And didn't he do it right by staying by Brian's little sister? However, that was a done deal now. They'd parted ways.

Mini said he got off easy. It didn't feel that way. He was broke and living off the kindness of strangers. He wanted to believe Mimi was the older sister he never really had. She was just a sounding board, after all.

Honestly, he'd felt alone most of his life. He wasn't quite sure why he wanted Ivy so much. Maybe it was revenge. Perhaps, he was just a fool.

But it felt so good to get something he wanted. And lord knows, he needed a lover about now.

After all, he was still in good health. No way, did he want to get on blood pressure meds before his time. That just took the sex right out of you. Or so, his dad told him when he still could.

Maybe that's what happened to Brian.

He shook with laughter at the thought. Somebody, had to man up. Yes, he felt himself moving in as if their needed to be a new sheriff in town, or was that just wanting to lead the pride.

It didn't really matter. There was a certain pulse that radiated from him now.

Oh, he knew Ivy wanted it. He'd known it from the moment they met a year or so ago.

Some things one could not shake. Especially, when he felt alive when he was with her. Inside her. All things were possible. He knew now.

But know one really needed to know.
