Ellie got the job. Eric knew she would. Well then, he'd apply at the grocery store which was practically a mall in itself. It was in the same shopping center where Ellie would be working. It would be great to take her to work and pick her up, perhaps. Hopefully, their schedules wouldn't clash. Maybe he could bring her lunch. It was full of promise.

Of course, going through the infamous test of how well you worked with others was enough to put him over the edge. What was it with all the psychological stuff? Could they really figure out who you were with all these silly questions?

Oh, he lied the best he could. Thought up what he hoped they'd want to hear. Just his luck they'd see through him. But it wasn't like he had a gun or anything and would over react and kill everyone in the store. Only taking the test made him feel that way.

How could he be better? Better. Was he the only one who had all this angst filling up inside him?

He'd written an essay last year that the teacher told him was brilliant. Only he'd used the word fuck four times. Therefore, he was given a zero. He didn't want to be a zero. He didn't.

Eric was pretty sure he wouldn't get the job. And besides, his Dad and brother were coming in tonight. Couldn't he be happy about that? He was sure now, he was going to have to put on the best acting performance ever for this little visit. It would not be easy. Maybe he'd reward himself with one of Kyle's little cigarettes if he made it through this.
