It finally hit Kyle that Eric hadn't shaved. He looked something between wolfboy and wolverine. Perhaps Nick was trying to grow something on his face too, but it was slightly red and definitely not Kris Kringle. But Eric, woo it was unbelievable. Maybe that's what was getting to Ellie. Maybe she liked her boys clean shaven and not so mature, after all.
"Huh." Kyle gave him a squint there at the hallway at school. "Why did you do it?" He obviously wasn't going to win an award.
"I dunno." Eric looked at him wide eyed. "See if I could. I guess."
Kyle wasn't sure it was him. Maybe that's why Ellie was being so cold. Maybe she didn't think it was him, either.
"Well, I know you did it this summer." Which obviously nothing compared to these sideburns that reached his chin. Kyle felt a little bad that he wasn't quite so manly. "I wish I could do it."
"It'll happen." Eric pulled a face. "I feel like a hairy ape."
"But you're not that hairy." Kyle cracked up. He didn't remember him even having hair on his chest.
"Oh, yes I am." He pulled down at his shirt a bit. So he was right. Had it just happened over night? When would it happen to him?
He pulled out his cell then in the hallway. School was out, they couldn't do anything about it. He called up Amanda.
"How hairy do you like your guys?" This might be a deal breaker, Kyle decided.
"I don't know," Amanda just said. "What is this about?"
"No shave November."
"No shave November?"
"Yeah, just because, I guess," Kyle shrugged.
"I hadn't really thought about it, much." Amanda told him. "My brother shaves."
"Well, of course," Kyle supposed.
"But not always, I kind of like it when he doesn't."
"I see." Kyle felt like hanging up. Maybe he wasn't manly enough for her, after all. "Well, I gotta go."
"Wait," Amanda said. "You are coming for Thanksgiving, aren't you?"
"Yeap." He'd decided the whole day and most of the night if she wanted. "What time you want me."
"I dunno. Early." She was making dinner.
"Like before six in the morning?"
"Not that early, if you can get here by nine that'll be good," she guessed.
"I'll get there before then," Kyle said. "It's gonna be a great Thanksgiving."
"Sure it is." She didn't sound so optimistic. He was just going to have to change that. He rubbed his chin then. No facial hair. Nothing he could do about that.
Hi there-Happy thanksgiving to you all!
ReplyDeletethis is nice....
ReplyDeleteHehe I like Kyle thinking about Ellie ^^ it makes me feel malicious ^^
ReplyDeleteIf I was Amanda, I would have been completely "HUH?" if Kyle asked me how hairy she liked her guys. I don't know, for me it's different with every guy, because every guy is different.
And you're right about knocked up: It's really every guy's fantasy. I had never seen it that way, but what guy wouldn't want a "dream girl" like Alison to accept him as the warped couch potato he is? ^^
Haha loved this. Shaving is such a hassle though. Annnd no shave November, I remember boys doing doing that in school lol, it was not a good look!
ReplyDeletei know someone who's doing a no shave november...
ReplyDeleteThis post is just so adroable because it's something i can definietly relate to! Like at 13 (i know these kids are older but whatever) some boys look like grown men and they shave and have big muscles and stuff and then other boys still look like scrawny little kids
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! keep up the good work ellie, you're amazing!
