So thats what Kyle was talking about? Amanda snuggled closer to Kyle as he introduced her to Cory and Roger. She was left without words. She kind of grinned. Hoping they'd move along.
It wasn't easy getting Kyle all to herself. She had to share him with her brother as it was, and she knew she'd been mean about it. And Amanda remembered now, all the awful dreams she'd had. Like she was on trial. It would be all her fault if Derrick was gay because she knew deep down she was the worst sister in the world. This had to come to mind as she stared at Cory and Roger. They probably had evil sisters.
Most times nothing ever pleased her that Derrick did. She didn't mean to be this way. It just felt so right. Like she was a real sister when she tormented him about his room, his hair. But deep down she thought he was the best brother in the world. Hoping he didn't turn out to be such a butthead like her brother Dan.
Actually, Cory and Roger didn't look that gay to her. She guessed she was expecting someone on Stylista or a comedy TV show. Why did Kyle have to tell her? Why?
Amanda gripped Kyle's hand harder. He almost let out a yelp. Thankfully, he got the hint not to say they should do something together.
Amanda kept staring as if she couldn't look away. Roger seemed overly shy and Cory, he just seemed indifferent. How could they be Kyle's friends?
"Good seeing you, we do have some shopping to do," Cory shrugged. He didn't hold hands with Roger who gave a slight wave goodbye.
"Are you sure about them? You know-" Amanda whispered right away after they left.
"Yeah." Kyle said aloud.
"Be quiet." Amanda whispered pulling him toward her more. Somehow she felt safe with him. She didn't even know why. It just felt so. "I don't think they like me."
"Well, maybe they think you don't like them," Kyle smiled.
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes and looked back at the Christmas decorations. A part of herself wanted to stay right here. It would be a real Christmas here. Not like at home. She just wanted it to be her and Kyle and forget everyone else.
"We're going to a concert with them," he told her then.
"Oh yeah, when?" Amanda let out a sigh. This would be work. She guessed. "I don't know why you told me, I'd rather not know that kind of stuff, you know."
"Well, you'd been pissed if I hadn't told you." Kyle was right. Why did he know her so well?
She put her hand on his inner thigh then. He sucked in a breath. She smiled a bit devious. There were some things she knew about him too.
"Quit it." He whispered.
"You know you don't want me too," She started kissing him then. Really, it was a lovely place to kiss. All those lights about. The glitter. And she knew she could make him want her more.
