a phone call

When Eric answered his phone, the number didn't look familiar to him. It was Roger.

"Oh, yeah," Eric was sitting on his bed, looking through some photos he'd taken of Ellie when they were out on their little shopping sprees. He never really felt like it was the word thrifting. But little adventures.

Meanwhile, Roger was talking nonstop how he'd got this outing together for the movie. Of course, Eric wasn't sure why this was so important. He vaguely remembered his Mom mentioning Harvey Milk once, but that was the 70's. She was barely in high school then.

"Well, what do you need me for?"

"I need a ride because I don't have a car, and well, I really don't know those other people that well. I know its-its a lot to ask, something you probably wouldn't want to do or, you know, I understand. I just need a little help here because Cory can't come and I don't want- I think somebody likes me. I could be wrong. Its just I don't want to show up, alone."

"I'm not going to be your date." Eric told him. Seriously. "I'm not even sure I could stomach it. The whole film, any of it. Really." Eric made a face.

"OK."

"But," Eric wasn't sure what he was thinking. "I'll take you. If I can bring a date.

"Really?" Roger sounded so relieved.

"In fact, I'll bring Steve. If anyone can keep them at bay, its Steve." Eric smiled. Of course, Roger might be ready to hide when he met Steve.

  1. well, I had to go through a few draft copies - learning from mistakes. But I got there eventually. Just shape out the face and fill in the rest with a selection of colours and song titles.

  2. About last chapter: Yeah, behind those fancy names like "Swiss Miss Mocha Cappuccino" there's often something quite simple, like hot chocolate ;)

about this chapter: Aw, I'd like to see those photos from Eric and Ellie's shopping trips. Must be so cute.
Cool that Eric is coming with Roger-and Steve.

  3. That is kind of funny about Eric. How he doesn't want to see the film, but he will go..while Cory won't. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

  4. I have to agree with Cait. I think maybe Eric tries too hard, sometimes.

Yeah, I'm sick . . . I can't even talk. Which isn't all that bad, all in all, but it happened at pretty much the worst possible time. Oh well.

Thanks for all the comments. :)

  8. Hehe, this was funny to read. I just love your dialogues.
I barely remembered Roger =\ Weird.

Cute thing, too, tonight I wanted to see that movie (you know, SEAN PENN!! Emile Hirsch and James Franco are okay, but SEAN PENN: what a legend. I worship the man)
