The competition was stiff, after all. How in the hell was Roger going to make this work? He'd done so well the previous day. After all, he was baby faced and fresh, wasn't he? Was. Now he looked like something the cat dragged in.
He'd some how slipped by Rhoades all together that morning with no breakfast and wearing shades. There were bits he couldn't exactly hide. Kelsey still told him they should have gone to the emergency room.
Yeah, he definitely felt sucker punched. He supposed Jeremy was proud of himself. Somehow.
Really, he was the last guy he ever expected to be a bully. Was that what he was? No ordinary kind, either.
Roger actually felt sorry for him. Was that all he'd ever known? Was this some sort of old school homo thing? He just didn't get it.
So when Roger got up to make his speech, he took off his shades. "See what happened to me when I went to the park...." And that's how he started his speech on how it was to be gay, not so long ago when strangers met in the park. He spoke of how necessary it was for tolerance to exist in schools. How there should be more available programs for those with alternative lifestyles. There was a need in schools for more opportunities for gays, lesbians, bi, and transgender individuals. Otherwise, there would be just more of this that was on his face to look forward too.
roger... amazes me.
ReplyDeleteRoger's speech was wonderful. I have always felt sorry for bullies rather than angry, because I suppose in a way to become that you have to have been treated bad in the first place. It's the whole cycle of abuse thing, look at Chris Brown for example - violent father, he swore he would never be like that, but he has that pent up aggression which unfortunately came out.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Roger. I think the school system around here is pretty tolerant, though, which is good.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Um. I don't have a new or separate blog or anything . . . I just haven't been writing, although I have been trying to keep up with everyone else. I think I am going to start writing again soon, though. Once things settle down here a little.
Spring break's coming up . . . it was a little weird because my cousin and his girlfriend came here for their spring break, and so I didn't have as much time to spend with them because I was still in school.
ReplyDeleteEh. Most things that happen during stuff like that are ridiculous. People just don't respect each other.
Bahaha. Ohhh yes. Although it was my kid sister who spent most of the time with them. She's quite bossy, and loud, but people seem to find her charming for some reason.
ReplyDeleteRoger was so amazing:)
ReplyDeleteby the way i love the new layout:)
ReplyDeleteWow, go Roger, good for him!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's interesting is on today's date the state across the border from mine, Iowa, has now made it legal for same sex marriage.
