finally

Olivia had been rather secretive about her plan with Roger's Mom. She'd gotten to know her the last few weeks since her own Mom wasn't talking to her. Olivia had sent his mom pictures of the two of them to her in an e-mail. Her Mom had sent back baby pictures too. Perhaps Olivia had been a bit devious, but it was nice to know Roger's family. She supposed she should have gotten to know Roger's dad. That would be next. It was doubtful the whole family would ever get together for a dinner. She supposed Applebees was as close as she'd get to a home meal.

The place was hopping. Roger hesitated. She couldn't get him to move fast enough.

"There they are!" Olivia had to practically push him to the booth. His Mom had came with the baby and her husband's daughter, who looked about middle school age.

"Gawd," he fretted. He might as well have been kicking and screaming. But she kept pushing and finally they were there to slide into the booth.

"HI!" His mother was full of energy and so excited to see both of them. She hugged Olivia and then Roger who was pretty much being a butthead.

"I can't believe you guys came all this way to a concert." Roger's mom kept going on and on about how tall Roger was and did he ever eat?

She finally got around to introducing Cami who had a mouth full of braces and kept covering them with her lips every chance she got and Dennis, blond and a handful.

Roger wouldn't say anything. Olivia kicked him in the leg because she knew his mother could barely understand her, anyway. He needed to talk. Naturally, Roger gave Olivia a scowl, but finally he sucked it up and acted like he was part of the customer service he'd learned from working at the grocery store. Always treat your customer as if they are always right.

"So are you excited about classes?" She wanted to know, and of course, how the car was doing.

It finally donned on Olivia that Roger might actually drive that car if it wasn't from his mother.

  4. Roger needs to just stop, and actually try. At least Olivia is being a bit 'intellectual.'

Hm, I don't know. When I saw the series I thought he was the most boring quite frankly. He seemed to flat. "I love you Effy!" That's all I got. Kind of a Sketch, Sid, and Maxxie combination. Like, everyone changes by the end in some sort, but I didn't see his.

  6. I didn't get that at all from "freddie" ..Jared. I found him real..suttle, but real..not over the top like "chuck" from gossip girl. I liked freddie's movements. The way he did things. How he had to treat his sister or his dad would be furious. great scene of him running which I kept thinking this guy is always on his skateboard..now he's running..and that scene when he butted Cook in the forehead. Cool.

I remember I had to watch the Motorcyle Diaries twice with Gale Banal Garcia because I found it so boring the first time, but the second time it finally hit me what he was becoming, so I'm glad I watched it a second time.

    Thanks for the note too.
