Ellie had coffee with Olivia while Charlie took a nap.
"I had a strange conversation with Eric." Ellie shrugged.
"How strange was it?" Olivia nibble at the left over fudge from Christmas.
"I dunno. I guess he feels he can tell me anything." Ellie shrugged stirring in a little more fat free cream.
"Does that bother you?" Olivia winced.
"Kind of, but then, you know, I'm glad he can tell me what's on his mind too." Ellie sipped her coffee. "Do you know this Syd?"
"Syd? The one who came to visit from Boston?" Olivia winced.
"Do you think she's OK?"
"She was in rehab." Olivia told her.
"I guess he thought they hit it off, but maybe not." Ellie sighed.
"Maybe its good, she doesn't want to bring him down, you know," Olivia said.
"Well, he's down, already."
"Isn't he always depressed?" She put down the fudge then as if she didn't need it.
"He thinks you're the one who got away." She smiled.
"He talked about me?" She squinted then.
"Yeah, he wished you two had well, had sex, I guess." She told her.
"Well, its too late now. Not like I'd make an appointment about it." Olivia looked at her.
Ellie almost laughed. She was sure she'd choked on her coffee if she'd been drinking it.
"So the dinner went OK, with Roger and Cory?"
"Oh, yeah, it was great." She smiled then with a nod. "Seems Cory hooked up with Demetri."
"Demetri? The Demetri from the grocery store?" Ellie was in shocked. "You're serious?"
"And how did Roger take that?" Ellie wondered.
"Who knows for sure." Olivia smiled. "He was awful quiet."
"So not like Roger." Ellie shook her head.
"Yeah, knocked the wind right out of him." Olivia just smiled.
Ellie turned to a flyer in the newspaper then about all the sales going on.
"You want to go shopping when Charlie wakes up?"
"Why not." Olivia went to get herself another cup of coffee.
