Kyle was slightly nervous about this ring-thing with Amber. He wasn't sure how to exactly start. He'd taken her to dinner. They'd gone to a movie and now here they were in the parking lot in his truck with huge peaks of snow all around as if they might be in the middle of the frozen arctic. It was cold, but she was so warm and he felt so hot. Possibly a sweat. But the cold made them sit closer. His arm around her. It was really a good place to be.
"I got you something." He took the chain out of his pocket and hoped it wasn't messed in a knot of some kind. It unwound and she said nothing for the longest time. "Well, uh, I guess." It just wasn't coming out right. It sounded so lame and kind of silly. "Do you want to um, wear my senior ring?"
He watched her smile. She caught the ring in her hands then.
"Really? Me?"
"Yeah, uh-"
She kissed him on the cheek then, but she hesitated as if she'd over reacted.
"Its nice." She examined it, what she could make of it under the lights of the parking lot. Amber looked back at him. His fingers touched her face then, and he couldn't imagine anyone quite as extraordinary as her. A part of him felt she might be too good for him, but he couldn't help but be happy. He kissed her then as if this was something tender and sincere. He hoped he could be the best he could be for her. Of course, he knew it the moment he touched her lips with his that he was the first guy she'd ever kissed. It shocked him, initially. At the same time, he liked the idea too. He smiled more.
She kissed him back which made him want to kiss her more. Really, it was addictive. He wasn't sure he wanted to leave the parking lot, anytime soon.
Aww, thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't. It's liked she dropped of the face of the earth. O.O

ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet of him to do that. I could picture the whole thing going on.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI really think Kyle is wiser this time.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely seem to enjoy each others company.
ReplyDeleteI do love all your comments! Thank you for being so loyal~
ReplyDeleteIf there was fibre-art classes in my town, I would be off the wall with excitment! But alas, all I have to be insane in is my beloved English Lit class~
(though I should take up weaving...)
