It was the biggest surprise to Syd, seeing Eric in the hallway. She couldn't believe it. This was amazing, and crazy all at the same time, and she had to act as if she'd past a stranger once she got inside.
"Who was that?" Kip asked.
"No one," she lied as she put away towels in the bathroom. She looked at her face. It would not stop breaking out. What was wrong with her? Well, she had one guess, but she hadn't exactly found out anything for sure. She tried not to think about it.
Her lips were chapped too. She looked so pathetic. Really, she didn't look presentable enough, but she was too tired to care as she jerked on her rain boots and old hat.
"I have to go out." She told Kip.
"Why?" Kip looked at her as if she was suppose to sit down with him. "What about the football game?"
"I forgot. This thing I have to do."
"What thing?"
"All right, I didn't want to tell you. I need tampons." She almost smiled, hoping that would shut him up.
"Really? Are you sure, I thought I saw a box in the bathroom." He told her.
"I really hate those." She couldn't think of a better answer.
"Well, hurry up, you'll miss the game." He was already into the nachos.
"All right." She just said, but she knew he'd be into the game for hours. She'd have plenty of time to talk to Eric.
Kip sounds as if he's full of questions. Syd thinks she can pull this off?
ReplyDeleteIs it just talk though? I dunno if Kip is that bad.
ReplyDeletethis could be really complicated.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she said that to him...
ReplyDeleteWhat a conversation. Well, hope she finds Eric.
ReplyDeleteLets hope Eric and Syd can sort something out without Kip getting between them! Have a good weekend to my dear!
