We ♥ It
"What if you hate me, after all this is over?" Amber winced with her hands in the back pocket of her jeans.
Of course, they hadn't even started moving the mess out in the junk storage space out behind the house where Olivia's great aunt lived. It was packed with stuff. It was dusty and, lord knows what was in this place.
"This'll be fun." Kyle was looking on the bright side of this.
"Are you sure there's a sink and bathroom in here somewhere?" Amber wanted to know. Any minute there was a pod coming for storage. Seriously, a lot needed to be chunked.
"That's what she said." Kyle started lifting boxes. Amber could just imagine a vat of spiders coming to get them once they unnerved the total place of solitude. Amber kept staring. She didn't want to touch anything.
"Just think of it as your barn." Kyle told her.
"Huh." She really didn't want to. She really liked history and all, but this was taking it to a whole new level. She really felt she was like one of those pioneer girls she'd read about. But she was suppose to be in a modern world.
"Well, come on." Kyle looked back at her. Amber just nodded. They'd have to do this together. She was glad he was here. She knew she wouldn't want to be here if he wasn't.
Amber nodded, sort of wishing she hadn't been such a bitch, she guessed to her dad. But he wasn't making it easy. And this sure wasn't, either. Even if was suppose to be a place they could live in, for free. She had a feeling they'd be paying for their stay here. No matter what.
