whats not to want

Ian got in on the discussion of why they should read the zombie book for book club. He guessed he was in. Not that he really wanted to be. It was about a 15 minute discussion. Asa had a way of wanting everyone to come back for more. Ian thought he might be a genius to get everyone hyped for a parody novel.

"You know what he said to me, before you got here?" Derrick said after the group broke up.

Ian waited to find out, even if he did need to get back to putting away CD books.

"He said he and I were more a like, than I knew." Derrick gave him a dead stare. "What's that suppose to mean?"

"You two are short." Ian gave him a sly grin. Naturally, he got a playful fist in his arm from Derrick and Ian gave him a fake retort that he was injured. They played around a bit more until he realized he should be getting back to work.

"I'm serious, you know." Derrick gave him his ominous look. "I think he's got it bad for Amanda."

"You so think you know everything, don't you?" Ian shook his head. "You should be worrying about Josie and what you'll get her for Christmas." Ian pointed to the fingerless gloves. "She just doesn't make those for anybody."

"I am not spending money on her." Derrick snorted a laugh.

"She's hot for you and she's short. Two pluses for you." Ian reminded him as they walked back to where his cart was.

"Don't make me go out with her." Derrick stopped, wincing in disgust.

"Whatever." Ian turned back and looked at him. "Maybe I should wear those gloves of yours, then."

Derrick looked at the fingers gloves. He pulled off the left handed one. "Here. Don't say I never gave you anything."

Ian couldn't help but smile. He put it on his left hand. "Just call me, Lefty." After all, he was left handed.
