growing pains

Liz had had a pretty insignificant Christmas. She hadn't gone anywhere. And things were rather unchanged with her and Kip.

At least there was Munro, and he'd spent a majority of the time reading books aloud to Liz's stomach. She wasn't sure if he was trying to create a genius or what. But he was very good at keeping her on a steady diet that might be helpful to her and the baby.

"Why aren't you going on a diet?" She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings, but he didn't seem to care what he ate. "If I can only eat fruit, no cheesecake for you."

"Why are you being so mean to me?" He finally yelped about it. She didn't think he would.

"Because, I care about you." She informed him. Perhaps it was wearing off, all this caring he had for her. She wasn't sure, but she decide to rid the whole house of alcohol.

Munro looked at her as if she had done the worst thing in the world. "But it was just beer."

"Yeah, just beer." She looked him in the eye. Next went the butter and all the greasy stuff. "You are getting checked out for diabetes." If she had to have so many blood test and all, with this long journey of pregnancy, he needed to find out how his health was too.

"But-" He looked at her baffled to see how much was in the trash. It was probably to heavy to take to the curb.

"Look, if you want to be around for the both of us, you're going to have start taking care of you." Liz poked her index finger straight in his chest. To hell with Kip, she thought. This was the heart she wanted to take care of. But as usual, Liz couldn't tell Munro she loved him. It just wasn't in her blood to do so. Yet as she stared at Munro in his kitchen which was now their kitchen. "I love you. OK. I do. And its not that I want to change you. I just want you around, to take care of me."

It was a relief to say, but she knew that was just the beginning. Really, she needed to divorce Kip as soon as possible.

  6. It's so hard to tell someone you love to take care of their health. You don't want to be their mom or a nag, but you don't want to watch them eat/ drink themselves to death...

  7. I know how it feels in that situation...it's always hard to let ones you love down or even just push them away. But it's what's needed.
