what ever it takes

"Well, what did you say to him?" Asa glared at Amanda for an answer when she told him about her phone call from Elliot.

"I didn't." She was closed mouth and he didn't get why she just didn't blow him off, completely. Elliot hadn't considered her feelings, for sometime now.

"Why didn't you tell him it was over, huh?" Asa nursed his bottom lip.

"I dunno." She squinted hard then as she put her bag away and changed out of her fancy winter formal. She looked as if she'd gotten home from hosting a game show, but her makeup was smudged and her hair was coming down.

"Well, you should have said something..like its too late. You have to be mean to him, Amanda. He was mean to you." Asa told her. He was on Amanda's side. It didn't matter if Elliot was his cousin.

"What about the house. It is his house." She pulled on her flannel bottoms then and one of Asa's T-shirts. "Its the dead of winter. The snow isn't going anywhere. I have student teaching and a job to worry about." She reminded him.

Asa nodded. He put his arm around her and he kissed her as if he didn't want her to forget what was really important here.

"All three of us have to talk." Asa sighed. This was going to be as awkward as hell, but Asa wasn't going anywhere.
