at least a plan

Olivia did all she could about the roommate situation, online. She didn't look for roommates. Besides all they needed were possibly one or two.

"I think we should do it, like an open audition." She told Roger a few days later when he came home from work.

"Audition?" He winced hard.

"Oh, you are talking, finally?" She slightly teased, but seriously, she wanted him to get out of this miserable funk.

"Don't mess me with." He was angry though.

"Look, we need people. And from the looks of things, well, Ravi and I will probably be out of here by August. Are you ready for a house of strangers?" Maybe she'd spoke too soon, but she was pretty sure she had to stand with Ravi on this. They did need a place of their own.

"What?" He looked like he could go into a meltdown.

"Sorry. But we need a place of our own. You know, see if we can make it, just the two of us." She told him. "So I'm waiting for phone calls, or e-mails, and between the three of us, we can decide on who should be here. Maybe its best, they are strangers."

"I don't want to do this, right now." He seemed to still be grieving over Amber. She'd hoped, seeing his Mom would help.

"But you have too. Do you want your Dad to do it?" She looked at him seriously.

"No." He fumed, hugging himself so. "I don't even.."

"Even what?" She knew he needed to talk, but she couldn't be some silly instructor who pranced around yelling, 'let it out!'.

"I hate accounting." He finally mentioned how he was in no way capable of this summer course.

"Then get out of it. Roger? What do you really want to do?" Olivia asked.

"I-I want to give acting another try." He mumbled.

"Oh." She was really hoping he'd stick to the accounting. It had looked so hopeful. He could easily get on with the company he'd been working the past two years with as a grocery clerk. "Then why don't you?" Olivia remained optimistic, yet she could see him changing his mind, again. He changed his mind, a lot.

"Really?" He almost laughed. She finally saw him smile.

Olivia nodded with a smile.

"You should do, what ever your passion is, Roger." Olivia knew his passions changed though, but she felt as if she were opening the door wide open for him. All he needed to do, was run for it.

"I'm glad you..and Ravi ..are still here." He told her. "I'm losing all my friends. I don't want to lose you, too."

"I know." She sighed. She hoped he learned a few things from the Amber fiasco, but it wouldn't do any good to even ask.
