"Good." Derrick said as if he might be there to sell cookies for the drama department when he caught Ian kissing Lola in front of the library. Actually, he was glad Lola was there, to be a buffer. Wasn't this what she wanted? The two of them to talk? Maybe it was kind of a threesome, as he now thought about it. But he didn't want to get off track as he stood there with the overdue books he was bringing back that he'd somehow left in the prop room. "I..I thought..you should know..if..if you, don't know, already."

Wasn't like Josie was advertizing it yet. Thankfully. It was best to keep it low-key.

"Scone?" Ian offered. Derrick started to dig into the bag and stuff his face so maybe he wouldn't have to discuss this.

"No, thank you." Derrick quickly said. "Um..." He so terribly wanted to laugh, but he hadn't even the heart to tell Henry yet. He started to cough. "Its about Josie."

"What about her?" Ian looked at him as if he wondered what was next.

"Uh, she's seeing someone. She really might love him, you know." He grinned then, as if it was great. "It could be really serious, but there is this..other thing ..."

"Other thing?" Ian winced as if he were suppose to guess.

"Yeah," Derrick bit his bottom lip. He looked at his trimmed nails in black nail polish. "Josie and I are having a baby." He said ever so quickly. He could not look Ian in the eye. Derrick felt as if he were suddenly breathing poison. Derrick wanted to ask Ian if he, hated him now, but he didn't. He saw Ian nod. Not exactly the reaction Derrick thought would happen. But after all, it was a public place and Ian didn't try to smack his face.

Derrick took a breath, dismissed himself and never looked back.
