For your consideration

Josie was none to happy to see what was in the basement these days. However, she didn't bother to mention it to her mother. Instead, she'd give her the doubtful look and silent treatment.

"You have to stop doing that." Ian was not exactly on her side. He was always on her side. She depended on him.

"What?" She snapped.

"Just give her a break, will you?" Ian was still holding her hand while they were waiting in line at the movie theater. They were in matching thermal red jackets. Their jeans were practically the same. They were definitely a real couple now.

"I don't know how." She finally confessed as if this new guy really bugged her. "What..what if she's sleeping with him, like Derrick's Dad?" She barely said above a breath.

"You need to think positive, for change. Stop thinking the worst. Have you really even met the guy?" Ian pointed out.

"His name is Duncan." She groaned. Her mother made him supper every night.

"You're never there for supper, anyway." Ian shrugged.

Josie knew he was right, but maybe she should start being their so she would know exactly what was going on with her mother these days.
