the privilege is mine

"Well, you know, Lynsey moved in with someone." Luc told Ruben that night he dropped in.

"Did she?" He'd looked at Luc blankly as if didn't even know her name.

Perhaps Luc was trying to find out why Ruben showed up. In the next breath he told him Dorian was out with his boyfriend. He seemed indifferent about that too.

Luc had no idea what Ruben was looking for.

"Actually, just needed a place to crash. For a little while, if..you guy's wouldn't mind." Naturally he smiled as if that might be a down payment or something.

Luc remained even lipped as Ruben looked the baby over for about twenty second.

"Is she yours?" Again, he was all sweet, even to Olivia.

"Topher? Remember him?" Luc looked at him blankly. "Its his kid. You'd better take up the crashing stuff with him."

Ruben was all smiles with a nod, as if no one could turn him away.

"So? What have you been up to? In Vancouver?" Luc questioned. Hopefully, the guy had cash.

"I did a horror movie." Ruben didn't waste time. He peeked in the fridge and took a beer without asking. Luc gave Olivia a look, who looked as baffled as he did.

"Was it any good?" Luc decided to ask.

"It was kind of dumb. Horror movies are like that." He shrugged as he sipped on the long neck beer.

"Why aren't you still up there?" Luc wanted to know.

"I needed a change of scenery." He smiled as if he knew very well what he was doing here.

Luc tried not to look disgusted and did his best not to give a damn what Ruben wanted. He just hoped he didn't stay long.
