who would have thunk it

who would have thunk it

"Well, this is a nice surprise." Garvin was happy to see Leo, and he'd brought along that special someone who'd helped him at the fashion show.

It wasn't often he got company. He assured them both he had nothing going on. He asked if they wanted to stay for dinner. He was sure he could find something. But then he saw that look on Leo's face.

"What's the matter?" Garvin winced, thinking he guessed 3 was a crowd, after all. Maybe he should just listen, but he offered everyone a soda, anyway.

"Its..well..My Mom..knows now."

"Oh..about you and..and Sal?" Garvin shrugged.

"No..no..the fashion show..me..and..you know.."

"Well, did she see the pictures?" He assured him that would speak volumes.

"She was ..just..so..upset.." Leo frowned, nursing his bottom lip. "I guess, I'm glad my sister was there." He pushed his hands in his back jean's pockets.

"I didn't even know you had a sister." Garvin couldn't help to state.

"Well, she's usually on a missionary trip of some sort. She must have had a falling out with the church or something. She's moved back home. Even has a job that has nothing, at all, to do with church." Leo seemed puzzled. "I haven't even told them about ..me moving to New York City."

"And I'm going with him." Sal chimed in as if he wouldn't go unless Leo went.

Garvin thought he better check to see if he had enough burgers in the freezer. He guessed they had a lot to talk over.
