It was finally sinking in .... Sam might not have liked Sky's so called family, after all.
She was down right mean to Draco at Thanksgiving. Claiming, what was he so happy about? He'd warmed up food, that Charlie(his ex) brought over.
Of course, Sam and Sky didn't stay. She'd made reservations for them at an upscale restaurant with their mothers. Yes, Sky finally met Sam's mother. It was a shocker too. He thought her mother to be her big sister, but she was a savy business woman. Sky could tell he really didn't fit the bill.
Although, everyone was so nice. Even his mother. She really liked Shelby.
Yes, for a moment or two, he felt like the odd man out. Especially, when it was clear to see..he wasn't doing enough.
Hadn't he found a better job yet? Weren't they thinking of marriage?
Was he ready to go down that road?
But what mattered to Sam was the fact that Sky wasn't there for his mother.
"What do you mean?" He was a little cross that Sam brought her up. Even now. Weeks later, after Thanksgiving. "We had dinner."
"Yeah, but..but you wouldn't even talk to her." Sam gave him the eye, even if he was brushing his teeth, getting ready for bed.
"What's there to talk about?" He winced, a little hurt that she would bring up such a touchy subject. This was a time for good night kisses and snuggling and...
"You, need to let her know, you are on her side." Sam told him.
"But..but she lied to me." He fretted. He couldn't let that go.
"Who do you think..made her lie?" Her question stung him. He felt a little dizzy.
Why was he always wrong? She'd say he was stubborn. Sam always got to the grit of things.
He washed his mouth out and was soon minty fresh.
Somehow, he thought he was at links arms with everyone. Everyone but Sam, who's arms came around him, from the back. Everything was going to fine..as far as she was concerned.
