Sunday the 13th

Sunday the 13th

"Don't tell me you think its a bad sign?" Roman looked over to Suzanne who was already clenching the arm wrist of her seat on the airplane. This was the first time she could remember being on a flight.

She shook her head, no. But he wasn't sure he believed her. It wasn't that it was the 13th, but she'd missed Sunday mass.

"I didn't know you were so religious?" Not that he had anything against it. It was just..he had never had a religious preference.

She sighed. Shut her eyes tight. He guessed she was praying. He closed his eyes too as if he'd say a silent prayer, as well.

This was suppose to be an exciting time. They were alone now. Going on a trip to London.

He placed his hand on top of hers. Finally he saw her little smile.

"Where is all that faith?" Roman smiled.

She sighed.

"I don't want to be afraid. I mean, I'm not. I'm not afraid, with you." She promised.

"I still can't believe your grandmother ..would..would..you know, let us do this." He smiled as if this was a journey he wouldn't want to take with anyone else, but her. If only he could tell her how fond he was of her.

Was it really true? Why was he even questioning it?

"I... I want to say it." The plane was getting ready for take off. He watched her eyes, watching him. "And I mean it. I honestly do."

Suddenly the force moved them back in their seats and the plane climbed its destination in the air.

Roman told her he loved her.
