The days are getting longer

The days are getting longer

Sheena lugged Naddy down the hospital hall. Omaha, didn't think Sheena would make it very far with the toddler. He took the child. Supposedly, Naddy was potty-trained, but that wasn't happening at the moment.

He wished they'd stayed home, but Sheena said she would be fine with the little one. Perhaps, they could at least be there for support. Omaha, couldn't think of a thing he could offer, other than wanting to yell at Minnie for not taking care of herself. She hadn't gone to the doctor once.

"How can she be like that?" He winced as if this would be the end of it. Something was probably wrong with the baby. "Why would she do that?"

"It might not be all her fault." Sheena told him. "Maybe Blackie told her not to go."

Omaha was ready to get in a fist fight with someone. Although, Blackie was nowhere to be seen.

Of course, Josh and Minnie weren't in some fancy pregnancy ward. It was down a thin hall in a room that looked to be for emergencies. Why hadn't Josh tried to get Minnie into the hospital where Josh's friend's husband worked?

Naturally, Minnie didn't want anything for the pain.

Omaha checked his watch, it was going on 7 a.m. He wondered how much longer it would take. At least, he could hear a heartbeat from here.

"What do you think it'll be?" Sheena was being optimistic.

"I hope its not a boy." Omaha said under his breath. "I hate the men in my family."
