a boy like Simon

a boy like Simon

Ivy didn't want to be Simon's friend anymore, but her heart tugged a bit, wondering if he was truly OK. They'd been so close, over the summer. She felt as if they were strangers now.

True, she didn't think he would take a turn like he did, but she knew he felt he'd been the second lead in her life and knew he would never get the girl.

But he was always on the go. She never saw him eating, and he was so thin.

"Aw, that's the way I keep my girlish figure." He'd laughed about it, sometime ago. She'd asked if he'd ever been overweight before. She told him her brother used to be chubby in middle school, and he would go without eating..sometimes, because he said it would make him stronger, in the long run.

He still would fast from time to time and then eat what he wanted, especially during the holidays. They worried about him, especially, being away from home now, while at the University, but he seemed well enough.

Ivy didn't think Simon looked well at all. Wasn't anyone worried?

"You'll have to introduce me to Valentina, some time." Ivy mentioned she would like to get to know her. Perhaps they could all go out. Maybe a movie or out to eat. Ivy and will needed another couple to do things with. Valentines day was coming.

Simon looked at her as if he was about to speak. The next thing she knew, he was on the floor, lifeless.

"Simon!" Ivy was on her knees shaking his lifeless body. Finally, someone called 911.
