ice breaker

icebreaker

Gabby was so tired of all the protocols at the high school auditorium where there was one talk after another about the dangers of s e x t r a f f i c i n g in their surrounding area. At least, it got her out of science class.

Still, they crammed into the seats just to listen for 30 minutes from people who were not part of the problem. Just officials who bored her into a deep sleep.

But she'd been surprised today when she stumbled out of her seat to head back to class. There was a guy she'd never seen before.

He was the earthy sort, but she was certain by his gaze they were definitely on the same page. She couldn't help but smirk.

By lunch, they'd found each other under the bleachers of the nearby stadium. They shared a smoke. He told her his name was Carter and he was from Minnesota, so the January cold didn't bother him.

One smile lead to another and like a great escape, a dance of warm kisses proceeded into a long lunch of finding each other under their warm coats.

It was perhaps a quick fix. Yet, ever second counted as she tasted him on her lips. Maybe he was even in her blood. Of course, a certain happiness lingered. Carter was just what she needed.

Naturally, she felt a little hurt that she hadn't thought of Ste, at all. Couldn't she remember how infectious Ste's soft kisses were? While Carter's left her lips raw and vulnerable.

Gabby shook the fear this could be all wrong.

Of course, Carter wanted to meet up, again. After school. He knew a place they could go where no one could find them.
