Joey was certain it was the 13th instead of the 14th and he might be late for his own wedding, but that didn't happen.
No, there was his daughter, Dakota to prod him along, and Xander to make sure he got to the church on time.
It was an afternoon affair. They couldn't have it, until Dakota got home from school, but she never looked lovelier and neither did Liv, who was more pale than usual.
Xander was his best man and his Dad and little brother flew in the day before. And his mom got there before another snow came.
At least Liv had Hal to walk her down the isle. Her family weren't too thrilled about the pregnancy, so they ditched the wedding last minute. Joey did his best not to take that sign of a bad omen. For the first time, his parents were together, even if his mom was a good big taller than his Dad.
Naturally, he wondered for a second or two if it was that, that had put her off about him. He guessed it didn't matter. They were practically strangers now. Even so, he thought his mother might be a little happy to see him, or was it the fact they both loved Dakota?
Joey kept smiling. This was probably the best Valentines day he'd ever had.
Liv was lovely, and their was a certain happiness he'd never discovered before. Yes, it was family. His family. And he was glad to be a part of it.
