Sheena thought this new job of her's was an opportunity. When Xander offered her the job to help with the payroll at his nail salon, she was flattered. Of course, she'd had her job with the cola place since before she graduated college. It was stable work at a stable wage, but this was an opportunity to be in charge of more, even if it was mainly bookkeeping. And it was the nail salon where she got her own nails done.
It was a win win situation! Wasn't it?
"Is he being a grouch about it?" Minnie wanted to know, even if they were in the middle of getting a little wedding together for Minnie and Josh. Sheena helped Minnie find a place for the wedding and a reception, a potluck with some of Omaha's hearty smoked brisket and faithful sides of beans and potato salad. Someone from the Indian reservation was going to marry Josh and Minnie.
"Well.." Sheena didn't want to talk about it. "You know, how he is." She shrugged.
Omaha did not like change.
"It is different, not being able to have lunch with him everyday, but I get home before he does, so..he's gonna have to get used to my cooking." Sheena winced more.
"You, cook so much more healthy than he does." Minnie told her while she was working on hemming the dress that Minnie created with a little Native American twist to it.
"Right." Sheena nodded. "But he's being a baby about it."
Sheena did her best to help, but as usual Minnie was well organized, even with two babies who were always needing her.
"I figured as much." Minnie looked up at her, and wondered how Sheena liked working with Xander's so called brother, Kevin.
"He's rather quiet." Sheena shrugged. "I haven't figured out if he even likes working with me." She nursed her bottom lip.
"Likes you?" Minnie was almost in a pout.
"Maybe..maybe he thinks I'm Xander's spy, you know." Sheena told her friend that she really didn't want to be in the middle of anything.
"Oh, but..you are, already." Minnie smiled. "You're giving Omaha grief about eating your food, and you know how much you really like being part of a business that's growing."
It was true they were opening new locations of the nail salon.
