Thursday the 13th

It was still the 13th and it made it all the more dreadful. Still, what was Ivy talking about?

"Why? Why would she do this?" He asked Cody. No way, in hell, was he going to stay at her mother's if she wasn't there. He went to Cody's.

"Just don't get so worked up," Cody got out a pillow and blankets so Brian could sleep on the couch. "Maybe, maybe it's a pregnant thing."

"A pregnant thing?" Brian winced. He told Cody he didn't think they had any problems. Maybe the bed was too small and her room was all girly, but they'd sufficed. After all, she was all he thought about. She was the reason he went to work in the morning and came home to be with her.

"You know, women get a little crazy when they get pregnant. Maybe, maybe she's scared." Cody shrugged.

If anyone was frightened, it was Brian who did his best to save every cent he could for the future. He wanted to be a good dad. He wanted to be a good husband. He wanted to be someone Ivy could count on, but she'd gone a-wall.

Brian felt sick at his stomach. Cody's girlfriend brought him ginger water in lemon. He was a little shocked she was here. Cody wasn't one to even let anyone know who he was even seeing. And here was this chick who was so calm, so pretty and quite endearing. Not at all what he was used to with Ivy.

Ivy was growing distant, even angry at times. What had he done to deserve this? Why couldn't he make her happy, like he used too?
