Happy Easter

Perhaps, they'd come full circle. It was a quaint gathering. For the first time, Tiffany wasn't bickering with her sister Brit about something.

Here they were on a fresh spring day with their husbands and kids. Just the way Tiffany dreamed, but never possibly thought it could come true.

Theo, Brit's oldest was so grown up. It was hard to believe he was in school now. He already looked to be in middle school, but he was just in kindergarten. It was true he was a giant, but ever so gentle and happy to have his cousin Brick visit.

"How did it all happen?" Tiffany shook her head. She knew she wasn't quite as successful as her younger sister. It wasn't until now she realized it was just the two of them and Dewey who was practically married still at home but at the University.

"A lot of hard work, Sis," Brit practically smirked. She said her house wasn't new. They'd did a lot of work on it. Even Carson's brother was here. He'd helped with new flooring and the deck.

Still, Tiffany was feeling melancholy, thinking of their sister Carmen who wasn't with them, any longer.

"Have you seen Julie, lately?" Brit asked while she was getting Tiffany lemonade and the men were out on the deck grilling burgers and the little ones were playing on the floor with their Easter basket of toys.

"Julie?" She wasn't really their sister. "Not much. She's busy with her baby," Tiffany sighed thinking she was just as bad. She never made time for anyone but her own family these days. "I guess she keeps in touch with Dewey." After all, she was Dewey's older sister.

"We keep in touch. Usually, it's a phone call a week, on a Sunday afternoon," Brit told her.

"Why don't you call me, like that?" Tiffany didn't mean to be hurt, but it was seeping into her throat now. Maybe the lemonade was too sour.

"You're so busy. Besides, you have mom," Brit smiled.

"Mom? What does that have to do with anything?" Tiffany looked at her sister, shocked.

"I wish I were closer. I would love to see her," Brit admitted she called their mom every day.

It was a dull feeling Tiffany knew she'd have to deal with. Maybe Brit didn't mean to be the better sister, but it made Tiffany feel bitter all the while.
