what a girl should know

Kylie couldn't take it anymore. Trying to be someone different to Cass. Oh, how he could make her smile with the smallest things. The way his warm smile let her wane from everyday life.

He was a magician with his hands. The way he could fold up paper and make her happy with the creatures he'd filled her dorm shelves with.

She wanted to be honest with him as their days grew into weeks. There were times she forgot about Sid. She didn't mean too. But she didn't know him like she knew Cass. It was as if every day was a sweet adventure with him. It was as if she wanted to do everything with him.

But even as felt light headed and following a dance of moonlight walks and holding hands, she knew she had to be honest with him.

"I'm not Azealia," Kylie finally blurted. "Actually, I don't even know how to spell it." She knew they were seconds away from finding each other's lips.

"Oh." He didn't even ask. She was shocked. She was afraid he would be hurt and never speak to her again.

"Sometimes, it's fun to be someone else." Wasn't that why people majored in Drama, he asked with a smile.

"I want to be me," she said. "I do. But it's like everyone is expecting me to be studious and serious." One of the reasons why she didn't live at home anymore. She couldn't take the expectations and nagging. "I want to be creative too. Like you."

Of course, Cass only gave her a quaint nod, as if he would never hold anything against her. Still, it was definitely the beginning of something.
