You're the Girl that I call Home

Kimmy was missing, but Harley didn't let it get to her, nor did her parents. They were all there for Raney helping with his mother's house and funeral.

Of course, her house was old, but so was Harley's a couple blocks away. She knew he needed them because it was just the two of him. His father had died when he was little and his dad's family was back east. They'd never really been close to him and his mother. She'd came to this country when his dad was in the military.

"Would you want to go to Japan?" She asked as they were going through his mom's things and finding old photos of her parents.

"I don't think so," he said her parents weren't around anymore and if he did find any relatives they would have been strangers.

Harley nodded, wishing she hadn't brought it up, but she did want to be the friend he needed. There was the option of selling the house and going back to Lawerence.

"I don't know," he shook his head. "Too many things have happened." He reminded her he was worried about Kimmy. Harley could see it was devastating.

"Well, she has run away from home before." Harley wasn't as devastated. Just angry with her cousin. This was the time when he needed her the most. "I don't know why she has to be so cold." Harley couldn't help but tell him the truth about her cousin.

"She finds guys all the time," she hated to tell him how she was back in July. "She left the concert without even telling me. I just don't know how you can be worried, because I know she's not worried about any of us."

Of course, he was in tears again, in his mother's room.

"I'm sorry," she told him. "I know you are going through so much, already. I didn't mean to make it worse." She found herself hugging him as he was coughing all the while as if he might be coming down with something.

It had been an exhausting week for the both of them, but Harley stayed with him through the hard times.  And now he was home.

Before he could even asked, she said she would stay.
