Just another Monday

"So what have you been up too?" Leia smiled as if she'd been watching Ellie on camera. She was standing there in the lunch area with her books from class as Ellie was using her own for protection.

"Nothing." Ellie shook her head, no, thinking it would be faster just to buy a sub sandwich and maybe eat it, outside.

"You are just being a tad low-key, here." Leia smiled, "Something is up. What is it?"

"Nothing." Leia was giving her a slight ache behind the eyes. She so wanted to leave this conversation behind.

"Hey, there." Next thing Ellie knew there was Cory bringing her a sandwich as if he'd read her mind. "Turkey, no cheese, right?"

"How did you know?" She felt her throat tighten. She could hardly breathe, "Thank you."

"Oh, so this is it?" Leia was pointing her finger at the both of them. "I see whats going on behind my back now."

"Yeah-" Cory said.
"No." Ellie blinked and looked a Cory.

Leia giggled walking away to find Nick.

"What?" Ellie looked at Cory.

"Its just a sandwich." He shrugged handing it to her. They sat down then with the sandwiches.

"You really didn't have too," she told him.

"Its the least I could." He shook his head, "Damn, you are one hard person to get in touch with."

"Me?" She couldn't help but smile.

"Won't give me the time of day. Won't even look up when I'm practically making a fool of myself everywhere I go around here." He chewed into his sandwich then.

"Sorry." She felt a little guilt about the sandwich.

"You aren't mad at me, are you?" He asked.

"No, I'm not." She shook her head, no then nibbled some of the sandwich. At the moment she couldn't taste a thing. She kept thinking of Kyle wondering what he was doing right now. Was he laughing it up with someone at lunch? Or was he all alone?
