stuff

"I know what gets you started," Eric was a tad mysterious what he was talking to Ellie about on the phone. But she knew. She knew what he was thinking. She couldn't wipe that smile off her face if she tried, laying their in her bed on the phone with Eric.

"Oh really?" She stared at the ceiling, trying not to think about tomorrow, the first day of school. Why was her stomach already in knots? Honestly, she was sure she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight, and then she'd be dragging tomorrow.

"To die for by Birthday Massacre," Eric laughed, gently. "You know what that song does to you. You are so hawt. Must be the electronic stuff or something. You hear that intro, and you are so into making it happen."

"Why are you saying its all me?" Well, if they weren't with each other at the moment, they could at least talk about it.

"I'm just saying," Eric sighed. "Certain songs really turn you on. And that's number one on the list."

"What's number two?" Ellie had to taunt him a little about this unconventional conversation.

"Who needs number two when we've got number one right here." He turned it on then.

"Quit driving me crazy!" Ellie laughed. Why were all these mixed emotions running through her veins. It wasn't easy to handle.

Layer upon layer of problems. Everything from having to face Kyle in the morning, to making it to that first class, and wondering if anyone would even say anything to her about her parents breaking up. She knew they wouldn't. And even if they did, she wouldn't care, would she? People don't care about that stuff. Why did she have to care about that stuff? She didn't want to care about that stuff.

It was just stuff after all. But deep inside, she wished she could take something to throw it all up. Somehow she needed a way to show herself, she was over it. Life would go on. There was Eric to think about.

  1. the first day of school... i always loook forward to it with a mixture of anxiety and giddiness..
information travels in weird ways sometimes. the whole school may know about ellie's parents' divorce - or no one may know. but i'm sure people would care, if they knew. or maybe they wouldn't talk to her about it because they'd think she didn't want to talk about it.

  10. I know this is sort of irrelevant, but I'm so excited for school. After our highschool orientation, I'm just flat out psyched.

It doesn't help that there's this one kid that seriously makes me swooooon.

Check out my latest post, I don't want to bore you with it twice!

The "turn on" song made me laugh.
