a very long drive

Really, Ellie wasn't all that nervous to be with Eric. Of course, she kept listening for every little sound. His bed was just as she remembered. And he was like, himself. Mostly taking his time which was really good, but still, every little sound made her jump, slightly.

"She won't be home for hours," Eric kept saying about him mom, and Ellie knew that.

"Its just I'm not sure I can be here for hours," she reminded him with a kiss. They needed to move this a long. Although, she didn't want to rush, either. The kissing was good. She'd missed that the most. And maybe thats what this should be. Of course, she was a little light headed. They hadn't eaten the tacos. Now the food was cold.

She felt a bit cold too. Was that good? Goosebumps spread along her shoulders and arms.

But they kissed more and she didn't think about it, especially with the touching. She felt warm afterwhile and she let herself slip into every little move he made. She didn't want it to be this good, but then why not?

Why did she have to feel so guilty? Maybe that wasn't what she felt. Especially when he could make her smile and she loved looking at his smile, the feel of his lips, his skin next to hers. But what if his mother came home early. What if?

Her cell phone buzzed. Thankfully, it was afterwards. Honestly, she really didn't want to move. But she looked at the text from Kyle.

whre r u? u mom wait'n.

"My Mom is here?"

That jerked Eric up.

"What, down stairs?"

"At the house." Ellie shook her head, no. "Why did she come?"

"Come, on, get dressed. I'll go with you," Eric said.

Ellie hesitated as Eric dressed.

"I'm coming with you," he said.

"All right." She looked up at Eric. "You don't think she'd think-"

"Don't even start. Just go and see what she wants. Maybe your Dad called her. Who knows? You can't think the worst, all right. She's not thinking we had sex. She's not." He buttoned his shirt up.

"You don't really know that."

"If you don't think she's thinking it, then she won't know," he nodded. "Power of postive thinking. And the more you keep thinking we made love. The better."

She wasn't going to bug him about it, but she didn't think it worked exactly that way. Maybe it did. She liked the idea of making love over just sex. Yeah, maybe he did have something in his reasoning. Maybe.

She pulled on her cutoffs. Put on the tank and forgot her bra.

"Um, thats something you should wear, she might get a hint, you know that, uh, we were messing around." Eric tossed it to her from the floor.

"So whats our story?" Ellie wanted to know.

"I have to think of everything?" He started rubbing his forehead with his fingertips then.

"It was your idea," Ellie gave him a quick smile.

He looked above for answers. "We were at the library." That sounded reasonable.

"No, I don't like that. Too many people know me there." Ellie shook her head, no.

"We went for a drive. You wanted to go to that little place in Plattsmouth, The Chocolate Moose."

"Its closed on Sunday. Everything is closed there on Sundays except the quilt shop."

"God, you're good, what did we do?" Ellie knew there would be no way they'd make it on a game show with these answers. "Ok, we went to Plattsmouth, and we didn't know everything would be closed. It was just a drive. A very long drive."

"A very long drive, it is." She shrugged. He got them both a Dr. Pepper out of the fridge. Checked his room one last time. The bed was made. Everything was in order.
