just wondering

"So what's up with you and Dylan?" Ellie asked Cory at lunch. She told him about Leia.

"Its not like that," Cory sighed. "She's the drama queen about everything. Dylan needed somebody to take him to a couple of places. He doesn't drive. He's OK to hang out with."

"You haven't noticed he's just a bit odd or something?"

"What's that suppose to mean?"

It was as if Ellie had offended him some how. She was pretty sure this wasn't her day to get along with people.

"I mean, you know, like maybe too smart for his own good," Ellie said while she was testing the milkshake today. Some days she wondered if they knew what there were putting in these things. Some days horrifyingly sweet. Other days, it was if someone neglected the sugar entirely.

"I didn't get that."

"You didn't? Eric thought he was a bit strange. Dylan would get on these scientific things that were kind of ridiculous when I think about it. I just can't see Leia with him, you know." Ellie said while she put the milkshake down, obviously a day where they went overboard with the sugar.

"I don't know, he's smart. I enjoyed talking with him." Cory nodded.

"Good."Ellie nodded, "Still, why doesn't he drive?"

"I don't know, I never asked," Cory said. "Is that necessary?"

"It is if you're Leia's boyfriend." They both smiled then.
