Eric was getting restless. After the half-time performance he was ready to go.
"You know it'll be crowded, just trying to get out of here," he sighed. "Lets just go now."
"I hate football too." Dylan nodded. "Hey, I know this party we could go to, if you guys want." He then smiled as if it was a cool idea.
"A party?" Eric looked skeptical.
"How far away is it and should we be going?" Ellie looked at Dylan as if she wasn't sure they were on the same planet, perhaps.
"Just some friends of mine. It'll be cool. They have this house. I have some classes with them."
"I dunno." Eric just bit his bottom lip.
"Come on, Eric, whens the last time you've gone to a party," Cory gave him this look that he was a dud if he didn't say, yes.
"Yeah, Eric whens the last time we've ever gone to a party." It was if Ellie was Cory's cheerleader. "Like never," she whispered to Eric with a sly smirk.
"OK." Eric smirked back. "It better not be a bad idea." With that they high tailed down the bleachers while they could.
"We'll just meet you guys there, OK." Cory told Ellie and Eric.
"All right." Eric guessed they'd have to follow Cory. Hopefully, Dylan actually knew where they were going.
It wasn't a long drive there, but it was out on a dirt road all the way to an old farm house.
"This should be good," Ellie said.
"Are you out of your head?" Eric was still being a tad cynical about this whole quick invitation. "This is a party Dylan knows about. It's got to be freaky. It has to be."
"That'll just make it more interesting," Ellie was being optimistic.
"If its boring, I want to leave." Eric told her. "Cory has Dylan. He can be board all he wants, if you ask me."
"About that, are you still not talking to Cory?" Ellie finally asked.
"Do we have to talk about this, now?" Eric fumed even more as they parked off the road near the farm house.
"OK, I'm sorry, but he's still your friend isn't he?"
"I dunno." He pushed his fingers through his hair. "Just stay close to me, all right. I don't know if this was such a great idea. What if everyone is drunk, you know."
"It won't be like that," Ellie told him.
"Its a party, Ellie, didn't you watch Superbad or any other bad teen movie?" He smiled at her then, shaking his head.
"We'll be OK, because I'm with you." She smiled, giving him a kiss on the lips.
"See, why do we have to go anywhere? We can just stay right here." He put his arm around her. They kissed more slowly this time. Eric was in no hurry.
Hi there-I enjoyed your comment, you are a super talented young lady!! Lets see how the party goes!
ReplyDeleteExcellent space!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
ahh, ellie and eric: the perfect couple! They are really staying strong through all the drama, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWell done, ellie!
Oh, wonder what kind of a party that might be. Sounds like a dubious party, judging by Dylan (sorry) and the way Cory acts towards Eric. So good that Ellie stays optimistic. Let's see if they go to the party.
