"I applied, and I got an interview, today." Ellie smirked as they were walking to school.
Eric really didn't like her attitude.
"Are you really sure you are up to working for the masses? THE MAN? Management? It'll be the holidays. It could be horrible." He wanted to sound indifferent instead of jealous. As of yet, he hadn't applied anywhere. It was kind of nice not having to show up at some place on time, being bossed around by not just one but several people, sometimes. Was Ellie really ready for something like that?
Ellie gave him a frustrated sigh.
"Good for you," he nodded as if maybe she'd forget what he'd said before. "if that's what you really want."
"Maybe you could babysit the neighbor's kids tonight. You could have my old job." Ellie shrugged.
"What?" Now that cracked him up. "Are you serious?"
"Why not?" Ellie looked at him as if it was a possibility. "Kyle's babysat them from time to time. Its not like their monsters, you know."
"Of course, I could do it." Eric shrugged, pulling his back pack up more.
"Good, because I said you would." Ellie nodded.
"You what?" Suddenly this felt tragic to Eric.
"I'm not kidding," she smiled as if she got her way. Finally.
"You're not?" Eric stopped in his tracks. "You are. I can tell that you are."
"No, I'm not." Ellie shook her head. "I'd really like to see you, babysit."
"Why are you doing this too me?" Eric squinted.
"Because, sometimes, I think you need to step down from this pedestal you're on, and help other people." Ellie told him.
"Help other people? What are you trying to get at?" This was just foolish now. She wasn't making sense to Eric.
"Or, maybe I want to see if you'd make a good father."
"A what?" He scowled.
"I love to see you squirm, sometimes." She grinned more and walked on.
lmfao! oh this is too too funny! Ellie is a laugh riot in this chapter! haha on you, eric. I love how guys are just baffled by chicks when we are really the ones who know where it's at!
ReplyDeleteEllie is absolutely right about eric. I really like eric, I don't want him to be a spoiled little baby. And since Ellie is getting her life together, movie forward so well, I would like to see him help her instead of dragging her down.
