almost a sour cherry

It was a few days later before Amanda called. Kyle had waited.

"You were suppose to call me?" She informed him.

"I was?" She never said anything about that, but then they'd been kissing and he'd forgot and well, now he felt kind bad that he hadn't, but maybe not.

"Yes." She sounded hurt which slightly bugged him in to a bit a guilt.

"Well, you can call me anytime you want, you don't have to wait." He was trying to pick up trash in his room before his Mom caught on that he hadn't. Also he was going to see if he could get all his laundry done. He kept forgetting about that too. He'd spent some quality time with Nick and the buds on his XBOX 360 playing video games with his headset. He just hadn't imagined he would miss it so, but he had. Maybe he didn't really need a girlfriend. But there he went.. apologizing and asking her about the movie in the next sentence.

"I was hoping you'd want to go." He could hear her smile and he was glad.

"OK, then, guess its a date." He smiled too. Then she wanted to know everything he'd been doing and how she wasn't grounded and hoped he wasn't.

"How's your Mom?" Kyle wanted to know.

Just fine was all he got, but he didn't quite believe her. Yet, he didn't want to pry. He wondered if he could get more out Derrick when it came to the subject about their Mom.

  1. Sour Cherry - that was the song you told me about! You seem to be really into it lately!
Ah, it seems they're getting along. Doesn't seem too bad. Quality time with friends + a girlfriend = Not too bad.
