Kyle showed up at Amanda's on his ten speed so she wouldn't have to drive over and pick him up.
"You just don't want me to know where you live," Amanda gave him a sly look since she'd dropped him off at the library that night. He hadn't wanted her to get lost in the neighborhood. It had been getting late.
"I thought I'd save you some gas, maybe." He shrugged handing over the tin of fudge to her.
"Thanks I guess," she said about the gas. "What's this?"
"Just a little something." Kyle sighed thinking she wasn't the easiest girl to get along with, but that wasn't going to stop him.
"Fudge, you made me fudge?" She laughed at him. "You didn't have too."
"So is your Mom home?" Kyle wondered.
Amanda just nodded as he followed her into the house.
"Can I meet her?" Kyle asked.
"No. She's asleep."
"OK, maybe next time." Kyle decided.
"What makes you think there'll be a next time?" She gave him a look that she wasn't one for second chances, but here they were going out.
"Maybe there won't be." He looked around for Derrick. "Your brother is coming, isn't he?"
"He's with my big brother, they left already. He had to set up the merchandise booth early." She told him Dan worked there most nights.
"I see." Kyle never bought any of the band stuff. He just hadn't connected the two together.
"You're early," she told him.
"I don't wear a watch," he kept his hands in his hoodie.
"I wasn't exactly finished dressing, you know." She had on a pair of black leggins and a pink tutu with a black T that kept riding up like a mid-drift.
"Well, you look fine to me," Kyle smiled.
She went upstairs then. He guessed he'd wait. "Aren't you coming?" It sounded more like a test to him. He wasn't quite sure if he'd pass. What if he did the wrong thing? Picked up something he shouldn't? It would be so over before the concert ever started.
"OK." Kyle let a sigh and started to race upstairs.
"Be quiet," she whispered and returned to her room.
Kyle took in a deep breath. This was getting a tad mysterious. He walked as quietly and slowly as he could then. It wasn't until he got to the open door of her room that he saw how well she'd planned it.
She was just in her purple bra and panties. Kyle felt a tickle in this throat. He couldn't take his eyes off her.
Kyle closed the door shut immediately and stood there as if he felt over dressed.
"Don't we have a concert to go to?" That was all he got out before she lunged into a liplock with him.
