Eric had seen them. Together. Ellie got in Elliot's car.

"Well, what are you gonna do about it?" He called Kyle on his cell.

"Should I follow them?" Eric winced. He was in his car. Never in his life had he wanted to be a detective. Now he was put on the spot.

"I don't think you should." Kyle told him. "Just come over. You might do something, you regret."

"Why does she have to be this way?" Eric winced. He wanted to do something nice. Pick her up from work. But maybe she did this all the time with Elliot and she never told him. It cut into him like a knife. Why did it have be so maddening? Why couldn't she tell him? Why?

"I dunno, dude. I wish I could tell you, but who knows." Kyle told him. "Just get your ass over here before you do something that you know you don't want to do. You're above that. Just let it go."

"I wish I could." Eric hung up then. He was going to follow them.
