OK. Here was the deal. How it worked out, Eric still didn't know. But somewhere in all of this, Olivia had came along for the ride.
She sat in the front seat. See, people could see, he was date-able. Possibly.
"This is just going to be great, isn't it?" He was smiling at Olivia, and there was Roger in the back seat who looked more frighten than usual along with Steve who was his usual body guard self.
"Its a lovely day," Eric hoped Olivia said, but it could have been, "The sky is fuck'n grey."
Eric wished he could figure her out. He gritted a smile, kept on moving and hoped they'd get through it. Somehow.
So they met up with everyone who was going to see the movie. Eric stayed behind. Waiting.
"Listen, can I sit by you?" Roger nudged.
"What?" Eric looked down at him. "I'm with Olivia, you're not my date." Eric almost rolled his eyes. He guess he didn't have a choice in the matter. Steve would have to sit next to Olivia. He noticed Steve might not even let her slip away to the bathroom. Besides, Eric needed someone to decipher what ever Olivia said. "All right. Let's just do this."
Of course, he knew he'd feel awful if he just stuffed his face with popcorn the entire movie. He would feel awful for lots of reasons. And then the movie started. And there was all this news footage of real men, hiding their faces as the cops took them away just for going to a bar in New York City.
And then he got to see Sean Penn kiss James Franco. Eric squinted slightly and saw Olivia smile at him. He instantly looked away and saw how intense Roger was watching. This was history. Important gay history. Evidently.
Eric sat back and relaxed and Olivia fed him a Charleston Chew, which was both strange yet sweet. She was really sweet. She was.

I like olivia.
ReplyDeleteShe's really pretty... I wonder if she can make him forget some of his grief about ellie. You know, I just read today that Milk will be coming here in theatres soon, and I immediately thought of you. I really wanna see it. I really love how you incorporate current films, books, music etc. into your story.
