Cory was waiting for Roger when he got home. He caught the kitten for Roger. Of course, it wasn't that hard. It was asleep in the cat box, after all.
Naturally, Roger was elated to have the cat in the house. Cory tamed it pretty much while he was waiting and now the kitten was asleep in his lap.
"I can't believe it. I can't." Roger couldn't wait to touch it. Perhaps rubbing it against his face might have not have been the best idea. Its claws attacked his cheek.
"Watch it," Cory said. Finally, after the kitten got used to Roger, Cory thought he should know. "I lied. I didn't have anywhere to go to today."
"What?" Roger winced. "Why would you do that?"
"I dunno." Cory shook his head. "I just didn't want to go. All right. I'm sorry. I should have, but I couldn't."
"Why not? You knew that one guy was going to be there that I didn't-" Roger shook his head. "And..and Eric brings all his weird friends. Some guy who might as well be the incredible hulk and..and this girl who made no sense when she talked. It was like he went to some special school to find these people. I had a horrible time." Roger hugged himself then.
"But you got to see the movie, didn't you?" Cory reminded him.
"Yeah, I just-" he sighed. "I got to see the movie and it was great, and you should have seen it. Maybe you would have seen what it was like when Anita Bryant was around. A lot of gay people wanted to kill themselves back then. It was like no one wanted them to have a place to live, to work. Harvey Milk did a lot for the gay movement, and you..you don't even care." He turned away then.
"Is that all?"
"No," he turned back. "I really wish Lucas Grabeel's character could have hooked up with Emile Hirsch's character. That would have been something to watch, but this was all true factual stuff." Roger shrugged.
"I'll go to the next movie with you," Cory nodded. "Promise."
Roger didn't say anything. Cory leaned in then, gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"I did catch your kitten for you." He looked at him.
"I know." They kissed then.

Thank God, he got the cat or this might not be so happy.
ReplyDeleteOh, isn't it that High School Musical guy in the picture? I`ve always liked him better than Zac Efron. :D
ReplyDeleteHah, you betcha rubbing a cat against your face isn't that good an idea.
D'you think Eric brought weird people on purpose? No, I don't think so.
Lucas Grabeel is in MilK?? Wow, that's awesome. I like Lucas Grabeel. I want to see the film even more now.
I'm happy they didn't really quarrel... Although that might clear the air.
Hi there-aah, they kissed and made up, nice ending!
ReplyDeleteI love the mention of Lucas & Emile..oh..now wouldn't that be a movie..hahahahaa..I'm glad they made up. I think Cory's learned his lesson. I hope.
