Eric supposed he knew. It was comfortable. Wasn't it? This was perhaps coming full circle. Maybe. He wanted it to be. Didn't he?

But as soon as Ellie drifted off to sleep he went to check his texts. He'd missed quite a few from Olivia. And he quietly went through them. After the third one he stopped. It was torture. Sort of. He squinted back tears then knowing what he had to do. He pressed delete. Everyone of them. He'd go cold turkey. Just end it. Wasn't that the way it had to be?

He wondered what Olivia would tell Steve now. Maybe she wouldn't. Maybe she didn't want Steve to know about him. Yeah, probably. He had to believe that. He deleted every text. He wish he'd kept them. Like a memento, perhaps. Something from Olivia.

He felt the pain slide through him as he sat at his desk in just his sleep pants. Eric pushed his fingers through his hair, feeling bitter now about what to do.

He looked back at Ellie and felt glad to be back with her, but this with Olivia was just as important. Maybe more so because she really ate up every word he sent her, and she always made him laugh.

But they were just words. Would that ever be the same as actually being with someone, so physically?

He couldn't stand it. He got online right away and instantly he got an a message from Olivia.

Oyeah: It's snowing =D

Errorproned: Oh really?

Oyeah: So why the cold shoulder?

Errorproned: Under the weather.

Eric looked at the sentenced he just tapped in. He was a terrible liar.

Oyeah: Better?

Eric: =)

He couldn't help himself. Perhaps it was just natural. But even that could get him into trouble.
