This was sort of strange, Ellie thought. They'd ended up at the movie with Roger and everyone. They'd sat with them, she and Elliot. Of course, it didn't seem as much fun. She felt they were the outsiders. Perhaps it wouldn't have been like that with Eric.
But Elliot had his arm around her, and it was all so real. Was this what she wanted? Yes. No.
It pained her to think Eric was all alone. Somewhere. But he'd said there was a friend he had to see. Who was that? She didn't want to think about it as she sat there and felt the calmness set in. Really, she could get used to this. No pressure.
Yes, they kissed. She was fascinated by Elliot's lips. Truly, he knew her rather well when it came to that sort of thing.
Was she an awful person? How would she ever break it off? And with who?
There was no way to enjoy the movie, nor even his company. Not like she wanted. She could see the disappointment in Amanda's face.
How could Ellie have done such a thing? Bringing Elliot to this outing. Nick wasn't much better, but Roger was cordial. Questioning Elliot as if he'd get the inside scoop or else. This annoyed Ellie to no end. She could see him blabbing all this to Eric. Then what? She'd have to break up with Eric now, for good.
this might mean all sorts of troubles. sometimes, it feels its other people who make up our relationships for us. so complicated.
