about then

Ellie wasn't sure what to do when she saw the truck. She thought she should just keep walking as if she didn't want to be a bother. Suppose, she could fall into something worse than what she was already in. Suppose, they thought she was trespassing on some sacred ground. Then what?

Ellie nursed her bottom lip. She so didn't want to make anyone else mad. Of course, she almost stumbled on her own two feet.

Naturally, the truck stopped. It was a young Native American guy. Two women were in the truck with him. Ellie felt a bit better when she saw the two of them with him.

"Are you all right?" She saw the concerned look on his face when he got out.

Ellie almost found herself laughing, but she felt she might collapse from the excitement too. She wanted to say something, but she couldn't. She just melted into tears instead. It wasn't until now that she realised every muscle in her body ached. Her throat was so dry. She couldn't talk at all. All she wanted was to go home. Just go home.
