Eric could go on. Or at least he thought. Except he really wasn't ready to tell this all to his mother just yet. He would as soon as he found out what happened with Amanda and Elliot.
If it fell apart, she was going to move back with Kyle. Not that it would be anything romantic, but at least she'd have a place to stay for the time being. He knew Kyle would be there for her. Who knew, maybe some day they'd get back together. Eric kind of liked that idea. Well, he thought these things as Belle laid on his chest purring. He rubbed her head, and she adored it. He couldn't help but smile.
It also surprised him about the baby. Yes, there something definitely alive in Amanda's stomach. He shivered ever so slightly by the thought that he was going to be father. A rather unconventional one. Perhaps.
He hoped it was girl. He knew what a struggle it was with his own Dad. Of course, Dora hardly ever talked to him. He didn't want a daughter like his sister. A part of himself felt awful that he wouldn't be there 24/7. Someone else would be there. Then he saw how Kyle was with Rosie. How did he do it? He tried not to think about it.
He finally got up to go see what Ian was doing. He wasn't in the livingroom.
"Where did he go?" He saw Dora in the kitchen with their mother. They were cutting out sugar cookies.
"Oh, I think he had a date." His mother smiled.
"What?" He winced.
"Met someone down the street. They were going to go to a matinee." She told him.
"Oh." He still had Belle in his arms. "I was wondering if one of you could take my picture with the camera phone. I mean, a picture of me and Belle." He didn't know why he hadn't thought of it before, but maybe Syd would want to see who was keeping her cat.
"Why?" His sister looked at him. "Do you have a cat blog?"
"No." That's when he told them about Syd.
"Well, you should shave first." His mother told him.
"But its just a quick picture." He winced.
"Shave." His sister told him.
"But?" What was the big deal?
"SHAVE." They both said in unison.
