say it ain't so

"And here I thought I was crazy," Elliot said as they were getting ready to go to the movie. "Eric's just ridiculous."

"He gave us the gift card," Amanda reminded him.

"Oh, that, yeah...well, you know what I mean." He shrugged. "Maybe its working with crazy people that's making him crazy. I heard him going on about that Syd. You don't think he'd do anything foolish?"

"Hopefully not. I just feel sad for him." Amanda hugged her stomach in her bulky sweater. He couldn't forget who got her that way.

"He's like this cousin I never had." Elliot nodded. "I don't know if I can like him and yet I do. And I hate that I do, but still he's so damn annoying too."

"You two should spend more time together." Amanda told him while they were getting into the car.

Had he heard her correctly? No way was he spending anymore time with Eric than he had too.

"You really think I should?" He winced.

"Why not, he's really trying here and you, you're acting like a stuck up rich kid, who, I might add, hasn't any money, but you act like you do." Amanda fumed.

"I do not. I don't act that way." He looked at her a bit sheepishly. "He...He gives you more than enough information, you know that, don't you?"

"Just be happy we don't have to pay for the movie tonight." She told him.

Elliot wasn't sure he'd ever get used to three of them with a baby, and he was having a devil of a time with Kyle as it was.

  4. It would be awkward to Elliot, but he has to get used to it.
