tell me again about it
Kyle ordered some pizzas. He knew Rosie was hungry.
He cut hers in little bite size pieces in the kitchen while Syd watched. He tried his best not to get on the subject of her being pregnant. Strange how he sensed things like that.
"You're really patience with Eric." He told Syd. "You must really care about him."
"Well, I wasn't expecting this." Funny she was hugging her stomach. But they were talking about Amanda and the new baby. "But, he's-"
"He needs somebody on his side. I mean, I was kind of angry with him, over the summer. Don't tell him that. But it took me a while to get over the fact that- well, that Amanda wasn't ever gonna be who I hoped she'd be. I mean, she was my whole world. I gave up a lot for her. It still wasn't enough. And I see her so differently now. Like, I guess it was me who'd held her back. And, well, it can make you miserable. I'm sorry I brought it up." He watered down Rosie's juice in her sippy cup since she was wanting to drink all the juice now.
"No, no, its OK." Syd nodded as if she could take what ever he had to say.
"I mean, its probably my fault, getting Eric so involved. I wanted him to be there when the baby was born. I mean, he has a right. And I don't care how bad it gets, its just, you know, this baby is his, and he needs to be a part of Evan's life. You know, its never exactly perfect. No matter what." Kyle told her.
Syd just nodded. Kyle slightly smiled.
"You know, you seem so old to be so young." Syd told him.
"Ha, well, it never seems to work out that way." Kyle caught a laugh in his throat. "Everyone, is always older than me. I don't think I've ever been with anyone where we look the same age. I don't know what that says about me." He bit his bottom lip then to keep from laughing.
